Christian Service Center Director calls Disney’s affordable housing plan a step

WMFE’s Danielle Prieur spoke with Christian Services Middle Director Eric Gray about what this usually means for housing insecure people in the area.&#13

On what counts as cost-effective housing

“You actually want them to not have to commit additional than 30% of their revenue on lease. So in this group, if you have, say, a household profits of $45,000, 30% of that, you’re on the lookout at somewhere all around, let us say, $15,000, a year that you must be paying out.”&#13

On why more models must be constructed around public transit

“If I’m, I’m performing, let us say in downtown Orlando, it’s seriously tricky for me to live in a group like Apopka or Bithlo or Kissimmee for the reason that it is going to just take me three several hours on the bus to get right here.”&#13
