Issues are definitely starting up to choose up steam in the apartment! I’m normally sharing genuine-time updates on Instagram but I needed to publish some more pics of the new headboard here because I like it SO significantly. I’m so glad that Jen and I decided on making use of Bowood for this piece. To say it is been reworked is an understatement. As you may perhaps recall, the headboard is the Pondicherry from Serena and Lily, in a gray linen that they available. I favored it but was hardly ever over the moon about it, and soon after a handful of decades it definitely experienced a couple of stains and was in require of a makeover. I briefly viewed as finding a unique headboard entirely, or a bed (I actually needed a brass mattress!), but in the end we made a decision that reupholstering this was the greatest solution. I’m truly definitely happy we ended up in a position to reuse a little something I presently had – and seeing it in this new material has made me understand how significantly I actually really like the form and strains of it. Like, Like!
We applied Jen’s upholsterer for this job, and I know I’m a bad blogger since this would be considerably extra interesting or instructive for persons if I experienced like, DIY’ed it! Or extra exciting if I’d observed it secondhand or what have you. Alas, I am not a DIYer and I am not fortunate adequate (or individual sufficient) to obtain a piece like this secondhand! So we employed a professional and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It is just breathtaking and significantly will make the room. I have always favored Bowood but I have to say, it’s even additional impactful and gorgeous in human being. Also preferred to notice that I utilized Bowood Union, which is the model that’s a mix of cotton, nylon and linen. Frequent Bowood is 100% cotton and comes in a few colorways. My colorway is environmentally friendly/gray. I selected this mainly because there are two neutral colorways of the 100% cotton Bowood – eco-friendly/grey, or white/leaf (there are also blue and pink versions). The environmentally friendly/grey had a really beige ground, and the white/leaf had a incredibly white ground. It was difficult to come to a decision for the reason that I appreciated equally in distinct strategies – the beige floor experienced a very tea-coloured, antique glimpse, but the white/leaf was very clean seeking. The good thing is there was a best option – Bowood Union in environmentally friendly/gray. It has a beige ground which is not AS beige as the other edition – so it’s seriously the fantastic medium between the two. Puzzling, perhaps! I felt it was critical to do my research and see all of the colour and fabric selections in advance of picking out, so I’m happy I did that.
I also wanted to share how much I enjoy my Sarah K. Layouts bedding! I found it by way of (who else?) Louise Roe, and just had to have it – even however figuring out British isles sizing was a bit of a head-scratcher. I have often just been totally enamored with ditsy florals so there was no dilemma in my intellect that I essential this duvet and pillow set. It is so rather and charming. The colors, the print, the ruffles…just ideal. I have a full dimension mattress and I’m very guaranteed I obtained the British isles King size. It matches completely and it is seriously smooth and cozy. (By the way, I definitely want to change the drum shades – I’m wondering of accomplishing a pleated eco-friendly cloth!). It’s actually odd, I used to normally obtain sleeping less than my quilt tremendous not comfortable and it felt definitely hot and way too hefty with a linen duvet include on it…but ever given that I switched to this a single, I have no problems and locate it genuinely comfortable. Was it the duvet go over all this time that was the difficulty, not the duvet itself?! I actually by no means suspected! Bizarre.
I just can’t believe how much I really like Bowood! It’s such a ideal mix of experience type of vintage and antique, but also new and energetic. There is almost nothing fusty or fussy about it. It’s sort of a great fabric and I may possibly go in advance and do curtains in it much too, since it is just so good.
Plenty extra updates that I need to photograph and share – thanks for following!
